Restoration of Degraded Images with Maximum Entropy
نویسنده
چکیده
Images recorded in electronic or photographic media are often degraded due to system imperfections such as diffraction effects, optical system aberrations, camera and/or object motions, defocussing, or atmospheric turbulences. In addition to these blurring effects, the recorded image is usually corrupted by various random noise effects such as the randomness of the film grain, photoelectric effects, but also random measurement or transmission errors and a further degradation caused by digitization. The general goal of an image restoration is then to model these degradations in an appropriate way which, given the recorded data, allows for estimating the original signal. Our recording model described below comprises both spatial degradation caused by blur, and random pixel degradations responsible for the recording noise. We assume a linear system transmission of the form

Image Restoration by Variable Splitting based on Total Variant Regularizer
The aim of image restoration is to obtain a higher quality desired image from a degraded image. In this strategy, an image inpainting method fills the degraded or lost area of the image by appropriate information. This is performed in such a way so that the obtained image is undistinguishable for a casual person who is unfamiliar with the original image. In this paper, different images are degr...
متن کاملIterative Image Restoration with Adaptive Regularization and Parametric Constrains
In this paper the iterative methods of image restoration are considered. These methods are based on the successive approximation algorithm with adaptive regularization and parametric constrains on the solution. The adaptive regularization preserves the global image smoothing and is considered as the combined nonlinear operator for simultaneous removal of additive Gaussian and impulse noises. Th...
متن کاملA public parallel method for astronomical image restoration ⋆
Any recorded image is blurred whenever the instrument used to obtain it has a finite resolving power. For example, the image of a point source seen through a telescope has an angular size which is inversely proportional to the diameter of the primary mirror of the telescope. If the instrument is ground-based, the image is additionally degraded by the turbulent motions in the earth’s atmosphere....
متن کاملFast maximum entropy restoration of low-noise solar images
Maximum Entropy (ME) deconvolution has become a widely used approach for image restoration. Although it has many attractive features, its computational burden is considerably larger than for competing linear inversion techniques. The present work accelerates ME restoration by using linear techniques within theME framework and proposes a simple and fast algorithmwhich is applicable to low-noise ...
متن کاملBayesian Restoration of Medical X-Ray Digital Images
Image entropy as prior in Bayesian inference was applied to the restoration of X-ray digital images with additive zero mean Gaussian distributed noise. An iterative algorithm based on a conjugate gradient method with numerical evaluation of partial derivatives was developed to efficiently minimize the potential function associated to any positive, additive distribution. The correlation matrix o...
